What is a Doula?
Doula is an ancient Greek word meaning "a woman who serves" and is now used to refer to a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the birthing individual before, during and just after birth.
Why have a Doula?
We stay with you until your baby is born
We provide non-judgmental support for YOUR birth wishes
We work to support your partner, and help to inform the process
We help to build postpartum support plans, and get you set up with the first feeding
During our time together each family receives:
🤎Phone, text, and email availability
🤎On-call availability from 35 weeks
🤎1 or 2 postpartum visit (after you give birth)
🤎At least 2-3 prenatal visits where we will:
- Review basic childbirth education
- Discuss and complete your birth plan and clarify expectations
- Discuss and practice Comfort measures to use during labor and birth
As a Doula I do not work in shifts nor have clients on the same day
I Work in all settings hospitals, birth centers, and your home
