Doula-related Services


We are available for all of your antepartum
birth, and postpartum pregnancy needs. 


Although services are flexible and tailored to the needs of each 
individual, we can guarantee the following:
  • 24-hour on-call availability from 35 weeks through labor
  • We will work in all settings, including hospitals, birth centers, and your home
  • Continuous labor and immediate postpartum support, including help initiating first feeding
  • Prenatal visits where we will:
    • Review basic childbirth education (including the anatomy and physiology of birth and understanding hospital policies)
    • Discuss and complete your birth goals and clarify expectations
    • Discuss and practice comfort measures to use during labor and birth

We facilitate group and individual childbirth prep classes that assist individuals in building an understanding around how their bodies work during labor and birth.

Individuals can expect to explore topics, such as movement exercises, managing labor and birth, and seeking support while building up self-advocacy. Individuals also have access to an infant feeding orientation and hospital/home preparation.

What is a Doula?

Doula is an ancient Greek word meaning "a woman who serves" and is now used to refer to a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the birthing individual before, during and just after birth. 

 
Why Have a Doula at Your Birth?

People supported by a doula during labor have been shown to have:
~ 50% reduction of cesarean rate
~ 25% shorter labor
~ 60% reduction in epidural requests
~ 30% reduction in analgesia used
40% reduction in forceps delivery
