What is a Doula? 

 Doula is an ancient Greek word meaning "a woman who serves" and is now used to refer to a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the birthing individual before, during and just after birth.

 Why have a doula at your birth?
 
People supported by a doula during labor have been shown to have:
50% reduction of cesarean rate
25% shorter labor
60% reduction in epidural requests
30% reduction in analgesia used
40% reduction in forceps delivery 

Services are flexible and tailored to the needs of each individual, however You will receive from me:

v  Unlimited phone and email availability
v  24-hour on-call availability from 35 weeks until you go into labor
v  Back-up doula availability
v  Continuous labor and immediate postpartum support, including help initiating first feeding
v  1  or 2 postpartum visit (after you give birth)
v  At least 2-3 prenatal visits where we will:
v  Review basic childbirth education (including the anatomy and physiology of birth and understanding hospital policies)
v  Discuss and complete your birth plan and clarify expectations
v  Discuss and practice Comfort measures to use during labor and birth


As a Doula I do not work in shifts nor have clients on the same day
I Work in all settings hospitals, birth centers and your home
